We often live in fear—afraid of losing people, possessions, status, or security. But this fear is rooted in a false belief:
That any of it ever truly belonged to us.
📖 “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” — Psalm 24:1 (NIV)
📖 “For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” — 1 Timothy 6:7 (NIV)
Everything we have—our breath, our time, our relationships, our resources—is a gift.
It’s not ours to own.
It’s ours to steward, for God's glory.
Our breath? Breathed into you by God. (Genesis 2:7)
Our home? A temporary dwelling. (Hebrews 11:13)
Our relationships? Entrusted by God for love and grace. (John 13:34)
Our time? A sacred opportunity to glorify Him. (Psalm 90:12)
Even in challenging times — when loss comes, or life shifts, this truth still stands:
📖 “Even though I walk through the valley… You are with me.” — Psalm 23:4 (NIV)
📖 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” — Romans 8:28 (NIV)
To truly live in freedom, we must release what weighs us down:
Shame. Bitterness. Regret. Unforgiveness.
That’s why Jesus calls us to:
Forgive others — Because we are a forgiven people. (Ephesians 4:32)
Forgive ourselves — Because Jesus paid it all. (1 John 1:9)
Let go — To live in peace, not in fear.
Forgiveness is not weakness.
It is worship.
It’s trusting God to heal what we cannot hold.
Cherish, rather than cling
Appreciate, rather than possess
Give, rather than guard
Worship, rather than worry
📖 “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” — Job 1:21 (NIV)
And in letting go, we discover something eternal:
We were never made to own,
We were made to glorify.
“Thank You, Lord.
For what You give.
For what You take.
For what You teach.
I surrender it all to You.
May Your name be praised through our lives.”
Amen.
